Scope of work

• Hardware sizing, selection of servers, storage and network equipment.
• Design of the target architecture: compute, storage, network, security.
• Installation and configuration of virtualisation and cloud platforms.
• Integration with the existing estate: directory, backup, monitoring, network.
• Technical acceptance, cutover testing and go-live.

Deliverables

• A technical architecture file and infrastructure diagrams.
• A platform installed, configured and accepted.
• An executed acceptance test book and a commissioning record.
• Operating procedures and recovery documentation.

Technologies

• Virtualisation: Proxmox VE, Nutanix AHV, Hyper-V, KVM.
• Private cloud: community OpenStack and Red Hat OpenStack Services on OpenShift.
• Servers and storage: Lenovo and Red Hat manufacturer partnerships.

Engagement terms

Ten to forty days depending on the size of the platform, fixed price or supervised time and materials.

Phase 1 — Design

• Architecture workshops and validation of the sizing.
• Technical architecture file and deployment plan.

Phase 2 — Preparation

• Preparation of network, storage and prerequisites.
• Pre-production environment and validation of the design choices.

Phase 3 — Deployment

• Installation, configuration and integration with the existing estate.
• Hardening, backup and connection to monitoring.

Phase 4 — Acceptance and handover

• Execution of the acceptance test book and failure testing.
• Transfer of skills and handover of the documentation.
