Private cloud and virtualisation
Building a private cloud means regaining control of your costs, your data and your technology roadmap. We deploy OpenStack platforms and open source virtualisation foundations in production, with the high availability, self-service and multi-tenant governance that IT departments expect.
Scope of work
- Deployment of OpenStack private clouds, industrialised with Kolla-Ansible.
- Implementation of RHOSO for Red Hat environments.
- Virtualisation clusters on Proxmox VE, Nutanix AHV, Hyper-V and KVM.
- High availability, hyperconvergence and disaster recovery planning.
- Multi-tenant governance: projects, quotas, roles and chargeback.
Deliverables
- A highly available cloud or virtualisation platform in production.
- Self-service portal and a curated image catalogue.
- Operating documentation and maintenance procedures.
- A tested and documented disaster recovery plan.
Choosing the platform
The choice is made during framing, against your actual constraints. We deploy all three families and have no interest in steering you towards one over another.
| Platform | Where it fits |
|---|---|
| OpenStack | Multi-tenant governance, self-service, API-driven operations, sovereignty requirements and estates expected to grow. |
| Proxmox VE | Hyperconverged foundation with a small footprint, simple operations, KVM, LXC and Ceph in a single console. |
| Nutanix AHV, Hyper-V, KVM | Continuity with an existing estate, or integration constraints with a given ecosystem. |
Technologies
- OpenStack, Kolla-Ansible, RHOSO, Heat, OVN.
- Proxmox VE, Nutanix AHV and Prism, Hyper-V, KVM and libvirt.
- Ceph as the unified storage foundation.
Engagement terms
Fifteen to forty-five days depending on the architecture, fixed price, with a committed acceptance phase.
How the engagement runs
Phase 1 — Framing and design
- Analysis of requirements, workloads and compliance constraints.
- Platform selection and design of the target architecture.
Phase 2 — Proof of concept
- Deployment of a representative model environment.
- Validation of performance and of failure scenarios.
Phase 3 — Production
- Deployment of the production platform and of high availability.
- Integration with storage, network and directory services.
Phase 4 — Operations
- Progressive go-live and migration of the first workloads.
- Training of the operations team and handover of day-to-day control.
What every engagement includes
- A detailed quote, issued after framing
- A named project manager
- Operating documentation delivered
- Transfer of skills to your teams
- Work carried out on site or remotely
- Support after go-live
No work in production without a written rollback plan.
