Kubernetes — administering and running applications
Kubernetes has become the foundation of modern application platforms, and its adoption shifts the difficulty from deployment to operations. This course leads from cluster architecture to running applications in production: workloads, networking, persistent storage, reliability, packaging and observability.
Training objectives
- Understand cluster architecture and the declarative API model.
- Use the command-line tooling to inspect and troubleshoot resources.
- Deploy, scale and expose applications.
- Externalize configuration and provision persistent storage.
- Improve reliability: probes, requests, limits and autoscaling.
- Package with Helm, apply access control and observe the platform.

- Confirmed Linux administration.
- Solid container skills (Podman or Docker).
- TCP/IP networking basics.

Day 1 — Architecture and tooling
- Container concepts and managed cluster architecture
- Command-line tools and cluster exploration
- API discovery, resource inspection and health status
Day 2 — Workloads and networking
- Containers and pods: creation, images, registries and troubleshooting
- Workload APIs: long-running applications and batch jobs
- Cluster networking: network interface, services and name resolution
Day 3 — Exposure, configuration and storage
- External exposure: load balancer and ingress controller
- Configuration externalization and secret management
- Persistent volumes, storage classes and stateful applications
Day 4 — Reliability, packaging and observability
- Probes, requests, limits and autoscaling
- Helm: charts, releases and authoring a chart
- Access control, service accounts and the observability stack

At the end of this training, you will receive a certificate of participation issued by squint.
