OpenShift 4 — bare metal deployment with provisioned installation
Installing OpenShift on bare metal is not a console operation: automated provisioning, hardware management controllers, infrastructure services, addressing plan and installation file must all be mastered before the first command. This course leads from the physical server to an operational, validated and accessible cluster.
Training objectives
- Position OpenShift, its editions, subscription model and installation methods.
- Plan the infrastructure: sizing, node roles, networking and storage.
- Prepare the virtualization host, its virtual networks and bridges.
- Configure the provisioning node: name resolution, time and gateway.
- Implement a virtual management controller and write the installation file.
- Run the installation, monitor provisioning and validate the cluster.
Target audience
- Infrastructure engineers and platform architects.
- Administrators responsible for an OpenShift cluster lifecycle.
- Integrators and infrastructure modernization consultants.
Prerequisites
- Advanced Linux administration at a confirmed level.
- KVM virtualization and networking basics: routing, VLANs, name resolution.
- No prior OpenShift experience required.
