OpenShift Virtualization and KubeVirt — virtual machines on Kubernetes
KubeVirt makes it possible to run virtual machines as Kubernetes resources, alongside containers and under the same governance. This approach offers a convergence path for organizations wishing to bring legacy workloads and cloud native applications together on a single platform.
Training objectives
- Understand the KubeVirt and OpenShift Virtualization architecture.
- Install the operator and prepare nodes for virtualization.
- Create and operate virtual machines: templates, volumes, snapshots.
- Configure virtual machine networking and the associated policies.
- Manage storage through the data importer and suitable storage classes.
- Implement live migration, high availability and backup.
Target audience
- Container and virtualization platform administrators.
- Architects driving a virtual machine and container convergence.
- Infrastructure and DevOps engineers.
Prerequisites
- Knowledge of Kubernetes or OpenShift.
- Virtualization and Linux administration basics.
