Advanced Ansible — automation at scale and event-driven automation
Automating ten servers and automating a thousand do not call for the same practices. This advanced course covers large-scale inventories, fine performance tuning, centralized orchestration and automatic remediation triggered by events. No Python knowledge is required.
Training objectives
- Manage dynamic inventories across estates of several hundred nodes.
- Tune performance: parallelism, multiplexing, caching and profiling.
- Adopt and extend an existing infrastructure automation framework.
- Develop reusable, testable roles that comply with an ecosystem.
- Orchestrate deployments: projects, permissions, workflows and triggers.
- Implement event-driven automation and automatic remediation.

Prerequisites
- Ansible fundamentals course or equivalent level.
- Confirmed Linux administration. Python not required.

- Dynamic group generation and constructed inventories
- Hybrid inventories and fact caching
- Parallelism, execution strategies, SSH multiplexing and profiling
Day 2 — Data models and advanced roles
- Data models and computed variables
- Anatomy of infrastructure roles and extension by overriding
- Developing reusable and testable roles
Day 3 — Orchestration and event-driven automation
- Centralized orchestration: projects, permissions, workflows and triggers
- Event-driven automation: sources, rules and actions
- Automatic remediation and resilience scenarios
