OpenStack — deploying a private cloud with Kolla-Ansible
Kolla-Ansible is the most widely used community deployment method: every OpenStack service ships as a container and the entire lifecycle is driven by Ansible. This course leads from bare server to a highly available multi-node cloud, backed by a Ceph cluster that each participant deploys themselves.
Training objectives
- Understand the containerized OpenStack model and the reference architecture.
- Prepare the infrastructure: nodes, disks, VLAN segmentation and addressing.
- Deploy the Ceph storage cluster and its object and file gateways.
- Configure the multi-node inventory, secrets and certificates.
- Run the deployment, validation and high availability setup.
- Operate the lifecycle: reconfiguration, upgrade and troubleshooting.
Target audience
- Infrastructure engineers and cloud architects.
- Teams responsible for building a private cloud.
- Open source integrators and consultants.
Prerequisites
- OpenStack Administration 1 or equivalent practice.
- Ansible basics and advanced Linux administration.
